Indicus Foundation was set up in 2011 seeking to contribute to the all-round progress of humanity and Indian society. It aims to achieve this through the building of communities that are inclusive financially, economically and socially. It defines progress as inclusive by definition, and is therefore a change that does not alienate but brings together the masses organically.
To undertake activities that promote the overall and holistic progress of humanity, based on liberty, freedom, limited dependence in the economic, social and cultural domains. To promote activities that can support the concept of limited government in a sustainable manner; including recognition that (a) self-dependence goes hand in hand with social-inter-dependence, (b) where rights and duties are seen as a part of the same whole and (c) where individual freedom and responsibility emanate from each other.
It seeks to pursue the culture of free thought, questioning and innovation; to look both across boundaries and deep within traditions to fund solutions that are in sync with the underlying consciousness of a society.
The Indicus Foundation seeks to partner with a group of civil society institutions who are working in the space of empowering individuals and communities and supporting individual initiatives in many different ways.
